Aproaching New Year, so new start

My last post was many months ago, due to health issues. I did not post any of the projects I'd made, but I was not inactive. So it's time for me to sit down, collate the pictures, and post them. a mixture of paper projects, and quite a few HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl) projects.

So hopefully, I'll have a few projects. posted up before the New Year, but probably not in date order.

New Baby Card and Tag

So at extremely short notice, I was asked to make a New Baby card. So searching Cricut Access, I came across a suitable card. I had to resize it to make it suitable, as it was only 7.5cm. Much too small to use as a card. After a lot of adjusting, I got a size, that I was happy with. Which left me with a conundrum. A suitable envelope.

So after a little bit of trial and error, using the weld, in Cricut Design, I had a envelope designed and made.

The bottle shape is cut out of White Card, the Blue Card, was embossed with the word "Celebrate". Blue as the New Born is a Boy.

The wording inside of the Card, is all my own.
The Font is "baby steps"

The envelope is a Dark Blue Card
There is a present, to go with the card, so I needed a Tag for that. Again after searching Cricut Access, I came across the perfect one. Which did not need re-sizing. Keepin with the Blue for a boy theme, I used a Dark Blue base, with a Light Blue top layer.

Vinyl on Phone Case

After much measuring and adjusting, I was finally able to cut a decorative pice of vinyl for a phone case. The design being a Shamrock with the word "Irish". I used Green vinyl, for the project.

The bright Green on the Pink Case, makes for great contrast

Valentines Day

Valentines Day, traditionally means flowers and a Card. So that set the project parameters.

First off Flowers, I used a variety of Colours including a Striped/Dotted card. The Flowers are Cricut Giant Flower "Rose". The Flower stems, are up-cycled Scented Sticks, the type, with a bottle of scent, in which thin sticks are soaked, then upended, to release the scent.

The Vase is a up-cycled Jam Jar, with a Balloon Heart Vinyl Cut, and piece of ribbon from Poundland, and a Bow, again from Poundland.

The card is a double fold, with a Heart cut out of each wing, a centre Red Heart, Surrounded by a White Heart.

Birthday Cards

Both my Son and Daughter, celebrate their Birthdays in the same month. Sadly due to camera issues, I did not get pictures of the cards I made for my Son, however I did manage to photograph, my Daughters cards.

My Daughter loves making Cakes, so her cards were themed that way

"Practising Zen Gardening"

I spotted a Make It Now, project on the Cricut web site. So thought I'd give it a go.

Three Flowers, one is a succulent, the other two are as yet unknown.

I used a light green for the Succulent and Red for the Flowers, the Make It Now project, called for Pink flowers. I personally think that they 3 flowers have come out brilliantly. For some reason, my phone camera, has given the flowers a shine affect, despite using matt card
I called this "Practising Zen Gardening"

The Succulent was made using a A3 and A4 pieces of Card Stock. The Flowers were made from A4 Card stock, one sheet per flower.

Christmas Present already hard at work.

As I've previously posted, I got a Cricut Explore Air for Christmas. And it's already been put to work.

The first project, was a Thanks card for my Mum, as a Thank You, for putting up with the Four of us and the Two Poodles, over Christmas

I used Glitter Card Stock, in Pink and Light Blue, and Silver Cricut Pen. Sorry the picture is not the best.

I've just completed my second project. this time including a envelope.

The Card is a Peacock design

Whilst it at first appeared to be a complicated assembly, it turned out to be straightforward.

I have to admit to being surprised, at how good it looks.
